Why is the test recommended?

  • IgG - To detect antibodies IgG - Produced within 7- 10 days after the onset of infection.

  • IgM - To detect antibodies IgM against the virus that causes COVID -19.

How is the test Helpful

  • IgG - serves as an indicator of the previous infection.

  • IgM - determines the recent/active infection.

Positive result indicates

  • IgG - A person may have had COVID-19 infection weeks to months before the test is done.

  • IgM - A Person was infected with SARS-CoV-2 and their body’s immune system responded to the virus at some point in the past.
