That understanding allows you to make more targeted dietary changes rather than just avoiding rice based on the CGM data alone."

What Are the Most Important Metrics for Metabolic Health?

"Glucose variability is one of the most important and underappreciated metabolic health metrics," Mohit says. "It's not just about average glucose — it's about how much your glucose fluctuates throughout the day. High glucose variability is associated with inflammation, oxidative stress, and increased risk of metabolic disease, even in people with normal average glucose levels."

He also highlights the importance of sleep. "Sleep is the foundation of metabolic health. Poor sleep impairs glucose metabolism, increases cortisol, disrupts hunger hormones, and reduces exercise performance. Our data consistently shows that sleep quality is one of the strongest predictors of next-day metabolic performance."

"Start with the basics — sleep, movement, and nutrition," Mohit advises. "Get a baseline understanding of how your body responds to different foods and activities.
