Four Women from Telangana Honoured by NITI Aayog

Four remarkable women from Telangana were honoured by NITI Aayog for their outstanding contributions to entrepreneurship, innovation, and social impact — a proud moment for the state and for women-led enterprise in India.

Among those honoured was Anu Acharya, Co-Founder and CEO of MapmyGenome — India’s largest personal genomics company. Anu’s recognition reflects MapmyGenome’s decade-long mission to democratise preventive genomic healthcare in India, and her broader contributions to the life sciences and genomics ecosystem.

About Anu Acharya and MapmyGenome

Anu Acharya is a pioneer in the Indian genomics and bioinformatics space. Before founding MapmyGenome in 2013, she co-founded Ocimum Biosolutions — one of India’s first bioinformatics companies — which grew to become a global leader in genomics data management. At MapmyGenome, Anu has led the development of India’s most comprehensive personal genomics platform, covering preventive health, pharmacogenomics, hereditary cancer risk, and clinical genetic counselling.

MapmyGenome’s vision — to touch 100 million lives and save a million lives by 2030 — reflects Anu’s belief that genomic insights should be accessible to every Indian, not just the privileged few.
