There is a lot of content on YouTube and it is easy to keep watching things that may be inaccurate or boring. Here is a curated list focused on health and wellness — channels I personally recommend for accurate, science-based content.

1. Huberman Lab — /hubermanlab

Andrew Huberman is a neuroscientist and tenured professor of neurobiology at Stanford School of Medicine. His channel discusses topics related to human behaviour and neuroscience — how our brains and their connections with various organs control our perceptions, behaviour, and health. Expect the latest scientific advances and effective tools for physical fitness, cognitive performance, and sleep quality.

2. MapmyGenome — /Mapmygenome

MapmyGenome has videos on wellness and health along with the basics of genetics and genetic counselling. Genomics Gupshup — our chat show with experts — discusses the exciting world of genomics and how it impacts your daily life. Topics include genetic counselling, pharmacogenomics, wellness, nutrition, ancestry, and fitness.

3. Dr. Pradip Jamnadas — /pradipjamnadasmd

Dr. Pradip Jamnadas, MD is a cardiologist with a keen interest in preventative health. His channel focuses on fasting and heart health, with interesting episodes on fasting’s effect on insulin, metabolic health, obesity, and the genetics of heart health.

4. NHGRI — /genometv

The National Human Genome Research Institute’s channel is the best pick for simplified, accurate genomics content. Their videos cover a wide range of topics — from the basics of genomics to the latest scientific advances in the field.

5. Dr. Mark Hyman — /drmarkhyman

Mark Hyman, MD is a functional medicine specialist. His channel discusses health, wellness, and food — including hacks for weight loss, good sleep, and relevant topics in nutrition. He also speaks with experts like Dr. Gabor Maté on various aspects of healthy living.

6. David Sinclair Podcast — /DavidSinclairPodcast

Dr. Sinclair is a professor of genetics and co-director of Harvard Medical School’s Paul F. Glenn Center for Biology of Aging Research. His channel discusses one of the most fascinating topics of our time — aging, the genetics of aging, the science of reverse aging, and longevity.

Other channels worth exploring include Peter Attia MD (longevity and performance medicine), Rhonda Patrick / FoundMyFitness (nutrition and aging science), Eric Berg DC (metabolic health and keto), and Medscape (clinical medicine updates for healthcare professionals).

Note: Prof. Robert Sapolsky from Stanford doesn’t have his own channel, but his lectures and podcasts are well worth searching for.
